I bought my first dwarfpoodle, a white male, on February 1, 1961
at Lackegårds Kennel, outside Malmö, in southern Sweden.
Actually I was looking for a black dog, but as there was none available, and I didn´t want to wait, I settled for a white puppy.
His name was Lackegårds Sir, but was given the petname Tuss (="The Wad").
Since that day, there has always been a poodle in my home.
The poodle´s coat offers the opportunity to choose almost any trimming you prefer, and you can always have it shorn.
The coat doesn´t shed, something that is advantageous for allergic people.
But if you choose to let the fur grow, you must be prepared to look after it.
At the moment, I have four poodles, the apricot Selma and Amy, the black Kajsa, and the white Signe.
They are all dwarfpoodles, even though Kajsa officially is registered as a miniature.
If you cross-breed among toy-dvarf-miniature, something that is eminently possible, you never know what the result will be, but the registration will always be based on the height of the bigger parent.
If you let the dog take part in an exhibition, you can choose to have it re-registered, if the actual height doesn´t match the official one.
I am also looking after my daughter´s two black poodles, the dwarf Fia and the miniature Lisa, all weekdays, and also during those weekends, when there are Basketball games.
As I bath and trim them all, it feels like all six are mine.
Please have a look on the pages, and don´t hesitate to enter your name in the guestbook.
It´s always interesting to see who´s been visiting.
